Hyvä miehet! Tässä taas yksi tapa, jolla saada synkkä marraskuu kulumaan nopeammin - ainakin miesten näkökulmasta katsottuna. Naisille pieni lohdutuksen sana, joulukuu tulee maistumaan entistäkin paremmalta!

I found this really cool DIY project by Curbly from HERE.
Start by painting the figure with an acrylic paint of your choice. Once it's dry, screw the hook in, find the right spot where the figure hangs in balance. Paint the figure with glue and spread a generous layer of glitter on it. Let it dry for 24 hours. Tap the excess glitter off and tie a string on the hook.
I used a different type of glitter on each animal, which one do you like more?
Löysin todella hienon DIY -idean Curbly:ltä TÄÄLTÄ.
Toteuttamista vaikeutti materiaalien huono saatavuus.
Maalaa figuuri haluamallasi akryylimaalilla. Maalin kuivuttua, kierrä koukku kiinni esineen tasapainopisteen kohdalle.

Täydellinen ateria esimerkiksi ennen tanssituntia nautittavaksi vaikka hapankorpun kera! Tätä voisi tehdä kerralla suuremman erän ja laittaa osan pakastimeen.
- (reilu) 1 kg luomuporkkanoita
- noin 1 l vettä
- 2 kpl kasvisliemikuutiota
- reilu 3 dl kermaa
- noin puoli purkkia mascarpone -juustoa (100 g)
- 3 kpl kotimaisia sipuleita
- mustapippuria
- suolaa
- tuoretta persiljaa
1. Kuori ja pilko porkkanat sekä sipulit. Laita vesi suurehkoon kattilaan ja kiehauta. Lisää kasvisliemikuutiot ja porkkanat. Keitä hetki ja lisää sitten sipulit. Keitä jonkin aikaa, kunnes porkkanat ovat pehmenneet.
2. Kaada kattilan sisältö tehosekoittimeen ja hienonna, jonka jälkeen kaada soseutettu seos takaisin kattilaan. Keitä seosta, sekoita joukkoon kerma ja mascarpone sekä suola ja pippuri. Ripottele pinnalle tuoretta persiljaa.

The blazer is from a small boutique in London, called JSK London. Most of the clothes they had weren't my style at all but there were some true gems among them. It's definitely worth checking out if you're going to London! I'm not a big fan of stripes in general but I've been very satisfied with my purchase.

This DIY wreath is a classy yet low budget decoration! You'll need:
- some white paint
- a small paint brush
- a styrofoam wreath
- some pine cones
- a hot glue gun and 4-5 glue sticks
- a piece of string for hanging
If your pine cones are wet and / or closed let them dry indoors for 2-5 days. Pick different sizes!
Use hot glue to attach the pine cones to the outer edge of the wreath first, use the biggest cones here! I removed the stem first from each cone, then put glue on the top surface. When the whole outer edge of the wreath is filled start attaching the next row moving towards the center, row by row. If the glue gets too runny, turn the hot gun off and let it cool for a few minutes. Use different size pine cones in a random order to create a natural look and try to fill as much of the styrofoam wreath surface as possible. Allow the glue to dry completely. At this point the contrast between the brown pine cones and the white styrofoam wreath is strong, don't worry, it will even out later!
Start painting the pine cones with white paint using a small paint brush, dab rather than stroke. Make it look natural so don't paint the whole cone, leave some parts brown on each one. Make sure you also paint the shiny glue parts if they're showing. Let the paint dry.
If you like, use spray paint and glitter to give your wreath a nice finishing touch with a hint of glamour! Tie a piece of string around your wreath to hang it - and voilá! This creation makes a great gift too!

This Halloween I attended two parties, one for adults and the other for kids. Dress-up overdose! It's nice when people throw theme parties and go through trouble, so I think dressing up is a must, even if it requires wearing something silly for once! It's a way of expressing gratitude towards the host. I went as a fortune teller this year.
My friend Katrina moved from the US to Finland roughly six months ago. She has been waiting for a residency permit from the Finnish Government ever since. I can't even imagine how stressful it must be for her, not knowing whether or not she'll have a future in Finland. She's lucky to have a job waiting for her, she's engaged to a Finnish guy, they have moved in together and made their house look like a home. She has even started to study the extremely complex language of ours, Finnish.
A physically and mentally healthy, young person who would bring tax income for the government instead of being a mere burden has to wait for over six months (the average waiting time is 3 months) for a residency permit. She's not allowed to take a job or work, she's not allowed to leave the country if she still wants to come back and she doesn't get help of any kind from the Government. What kind of message does this send out to all foreigners considering to move to Finland, especially for the ones that have higher degree education?!
It was great that Katrina decided to throw an American style Halloween for us Finns, it seemed to really cheer her up and make her feel more at home. She made some traditional American Halloween delicacies. My absolute favourite was caramel corn, she made an enormous bowl of it, seriously, I've never seen a bowl that big! We even got to take some of it home!
Halloween isn't a big thing here (yet). Although you can tell that it's getting more popular each year. I was lucky to get introduced to the holiday the right way at a young age, at the Finnish-American Kindergarden.
My "little sister" C.C. has a Halloween birthday each year. We decorate the house with spooky Halloween decorations, kids and adults get to dress up, there's a treasure hunt or an obstacle course (the old, creepy attic and cellar are perfect for setting the mood), some trick or treating, a disco and the best outfit is rewarded - ultimately a lot of fun! No wonder friends of hers start asking about her birthday and plan their outfits already in early August!
This year there was a dance teacher from a local dance school teaching guests some vogueing moves! I recommend you to try it if you like a challenge. My respect for all vogueing dancers just got up a hundred notches! It was a great idea to hire a teacher to come home! The kids ( and adults) loved it!
